After the Indoor Showjumping Qualifier the next Area competition is the Hunter Challenge 28th March 2010 at Epworth Riding Club near Doncaster.
This taken form the British Riding Clubs website "The format of the Festival has undergone many changes with the introduction of the Festival Challenge last year. This competition was championed amongst competitors in 2009 so it returns in the same format for 2010. This competition is designed to be a test of a horse and rider's ability to negotiate a show jumping course together with a piece of hunting country at a fair hunting pace. The course will consist of seven to ten show jumps followed by eight to fifteen cross-country fences, which may include up to three dressing fences in the Junior and Senior Pairs Championships (optional at area qualifiers). Qualifiers will be run at Club and Area level to give members the maximum possible chance to qualify.
There are four challenge classes: 1.Junior Novice and Open – for teams of four riders and individuals 2.Junior Pairs 3.Senior Novice and Open – for teams of four riders and individuals 4.Senior Pairs " If you are interested in getting involved with this competition either as part of a team, either Novice (2'9") or Open (3'3") or helping (it is part of the requirements for entering a team that we provide helpers on the day. Training is going to be held at Crosper Farm with Tracy Garside on the 6th March along side her SJ lesson. Kath will organise plenty of skinnies to practice over, and make sure we are well prepared for Epworth.
