These are for Club Members only.
Dressage competitions are run monthly from October to March on Saturdays and Tuesdays, additionally the occasional mid week competition during the Summer months. They are open to all members at the very reasonable rate of £5 per test.
Saturday competitions are run by Sally Wright (01943 864311) and Tuesday competitions are run by Sue Emsley (01423 869414) both at Ledston Equine Centre between 12 and 4pm.
We also run summer competitions at different venues sometimes on grass and later in the afternoon / early evening. Normally there are a number of tests to choose from: 2 preliminary, 2 novice, 2 elementary and any medium or above of the competitor’s choice. Any competitor may do up to two tests per horse and their place and league points are based on the highest % mark of the two.
Each member competes in one of three leagues as defined in the League categories article. Points are awarded as shown below and are totalled at the end of the Club year when the top six in each league receive a special rosette. The winners of leagues 2 and 3 automatically move up a league. A competitor who competes in both the Saturday and midweek competition in the same month will get points only for the first competition.
Number of competitors 7 1st=4pts, 2nd=3pts, 3rd=2pts, 4th=1pt 5-6 1st=3pts, 2nd=2pts, 3rd=1pt 3-4 1st=2pts, 2nd=1pt 1-2 1st=1pt
In addition each competitor achieving 60% or over gets another 1pt, whether placed or not. All placed competitors receive a rosette.
